Azteca Systems President Selected for URISA Panel
Brian Haslam to Participate on Infrastructure Panel

Sandy, UT — Brian Haslam, President of Azteca Systems, has been selected as a panelist at the 42nd Annual URISA Conference & Exposition, Tuesday November 9, 2004 in Reno Nevada. Members of the panel will discuss issues surrounding today’s infrastructure problems and how GIS technology is being applied to resolve these issues.

Mr. Haslam has been invited to present on the panel discussion of Public Works and Asset Management at the 42nd Annual URISA Conference. Moderated by William DeGroff, the Western Regional Consulting Manager for Westin Engineering, Inc., Mr. Haslam and Bob Churchill, General Manager for Citrus Heights Water District, Citrus Heights California, will discuss how GIS technology and agencies working together can resolve the infrastructure issues facing public works and utilities agencies in United States.

“I am eager to discuss infrastructure issues agencies are facing today,” reports Mr. Haslam. “We are confident our presentations and discussion will offer interesting and enlightening ideas GIS technology can provide that suitably address these issues.”

The URISA International Conference is focusing on ways society can improve the urban and regional environment through the use of technology. Mr. Haslam’s presentation will also introduce attendees to the recently formed National Association of GIS-Centric Software.

“Azteca Systems is pleased to be a primary supporter of the National Association of GIS-Centric Software (NAGCS) initiative,” said Haslam. “The goal of NAGCS is to promote open geodatabase standards that assure local government, public works and utilities are able to fully leverage their investment in GIS.” He will explain how the association promotes interoperability, open standards, and shared access among related applications, which distinguish these applications and software systems from other approaches.
