| At Deadman Valley, we came across a group of real nice people on a Black Feather guided trip. They were nice enough to share some dinner with us in Deadman Valley. Kylir made us a paddle to hang with others from previous groups in the Deadman Valley check-in station. The rain stopped about midnight, it was spectacular watching the sun rays filter through the clouds at 1 am.

| Our journey down First Canyon was spectacular. The storm of the previous couple days was lifting, leaving behind magnificient scenaery. The two rapids in this canyon, George's Riffle and Lafferty's, were fairly straightforward. George's was paddle down the center of the tongue, jest left of some big waves. Lafferty's was basically in the cliff on the far right, so we just stayed to the left side of the channel and missed it entirely. |
